The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
